Here is a short list what makes shrimps drop their eggs
- insufficiant water parameter in general
- sudden change in water parameter and temperature due to big water changes
- the eggs are not fertilized
- it’s the first berried time of younger females; that’s why they sometimes don’t move the eggs under the belly constantly and eggs get rotten
- the female is chased by a lot by males still wanting to mate (=stress for the female)
Popularity: 8%
So females will be berried, without the eggs being fertilized? I just recall somewhere I read where some folks were saying the eggs will not drop from the saddle and females will not berry unless the eggs are fertilized. Reason I ask is that I had some Super Tigers females that were berried, but they only carried for a couple days.
As far as I know the male attaches his sp*** and the female presses the eggs down later. Occasionally, some eggs might not be fertilized.
Thanks, perhaps in combination with the other reasons, my females were not carrying to term.
