More and more interesting shrimps now come from Taiwan. Taiwanese breeder seem to successfully find their own way with new shrimp creations to international shrimp market. Silane lately showed the so called Rili shrimps in shrimpnow.com which were bred by Mr Wang, Taiwan. This species is very interesting for shrimp keepers in tropical regions, since neocaridina are not as temperature sensible than others. Also check ou the new ‘Painted Red Fire’ he showed in shrimpnow.
The Rili Shimp where shown in two Asian forums first:
Neocaridina sometimes have transparent areas; that’s not unusual and happens to Yellow Fire shrimp, too. New is to start a new line from shrimps other keepers would reject.

The one on the second picture looks funny, but usually the blank parts seem to vary quite a bit? I guess i’m not a fan of these, let’s see if they spread in Germany.

Hi Muffin, I am not a big neocaridiana fan, I must admit, but think about crossbreeding with paracardina or similar. I guess we havn’t reached the top end of shrimp breeding yet and as I have written in shrimpnow, this red Rili shrimps perhaps is the source for further breeding – like a yellow-red neocaridina or so. the greatest question at all those pictures is where are the males? I dont think the males look like the females.
Males will look worse for sure, I agree.Hence, I guess will see some photos of males in the next time.
