JBL Furanol 2 will be forbidden from october 1rst 2010 in Germany. The active agent, Nifurpirinol, is on an official governmental blacklist. Thus, the government doesn’t want to have ‘uncontrolled’ use of antibiotics from hobbyists. I think this novelle is a pity for shrimp keepers, because Furanol was a very good drug to cure bacterial infections of shrimp. Seems like you have to go to the veterinary from autumn 2010 on if you need meds for your shrimps. JBL replied in an email that they did not plan a new and similar medicaments to replace Furanol.
