How Supertiger Shrimp look alike
Friday, July 10th, 2009Tiger Shrimp show a large variance in their wild form. This is why a variety of tiger shrimp are displayed in shops with exotic names, however they belong to one and the same class and it is due to the different distribution areas and local environmental factors that these strains sometimes show a striking variance (see also: Red Tiger Shrimp in wild form).
One often can observe a change of color in the area of the head, the tiger stripes or the tail. The Super Tiger, we breed for some time now, show a yellow head and tail. The wine-red or black tiger stripes are a nice contrast to this. The total size of Supertiger Shrimp is impressive, because they are clearly bigger than other tiger shrimp.
My Supertiger show color variances of yellow, blue and red in the body. I try to stabilize these colors through a targeted selection.
